As our first group activity, we took a walking tour throughout Cannes, the city we would be staying in. We started the tour by looking at local shops (including a truffle store where we got samples!!), and then we headed to a farmers market. In the market, there was a huge selection of fresh fruit, spices, traditional food, and pratically anything you could imagine. My friends and I got a couple of traditional pastries, including a Tarte Tropézienne, a cake strongly associated with the South of France, and sat down and people watched the crowd at the market! Then, we continued on our walking tour and saw the old town of Cannes which led to a beautiful view where we got our first group pictures. Then, we headed to lunch as one big group of 22, I got a truffle pizza and it was delicious (If they have truffles on the menu, get that item, it will probably be really good). After lunch, we got onto a catamaran that took us around in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, giving us a great opportunity to get to know one another. During the catamaran, we had time to sit around and chat, but also time to swim in the water (it was so cold!!) and enjoy the amazing weather the South of France has to offer.
